GladeVCP DRO This is a LinuxCNC application intended to be used with a manual mill with scales or some other encoder on the X and Y axes. The encoder A and B signals can be connected to parallel port inputs as indicated by the .hal file. Edit the .hal file to match your particular hardware setup. Installation and Use LinuxCNC needs to be installed. Then copy the gvcpDRO directory to your computer, for example into your home directory. Start a terminal session, change to the gvcpDRO directory and invoke the application with "halrun -f gvcpDRO.hal". This should open a window as shown in the Screenshot-gvcpDRO.png file. The X and Y DROs can be zeroed independently, for instance, zero X1 and Y1 to the workpiece zero, then zero X2 and Y2 on a different feature in order to move an incremental distance from that feature rather than calculating a workpiece position.
